it´s so great! yesterday we saw land being claimed by a poor group of farmers, who took over a large land estate owned by an elite, now 45 families will live and work the land. I have great pictures - but i can not figure how to upload them onto this 98 gateway... it´s been in the 80s and 90s contstantly! Ít´s very very beuatiful here, everything is green.
We are staying in a barrio, or ghetto. they let gaurd dogs into our courtyard at night and there is barbedwire everywhere. But it seems very safe to me.
The people are wonderful, they all ask where we are from and try to be friendly. We are having a great time so far!

great to hear from you. dad wants to know how and when you will be talking to the elites, to get their side of the story and i am wondering how (if) they were reimbursed. i feel happy for the 45 famileis and hope it works! Will you be watching the inaguaration of obama tomarrow? Carol and Tony are at the southern most tip of argentina and watched nfl play offs with spanish commentary on sunday. they saw cnn in english. looking forward to your pictures.
We have met with many elites, including Amirah´s cousins, who I could talk to a little more freely, they dont like Chavez because they hate poor people... literally, that´s what they said.
Some of the poorer people however, say they like the programs but think chavez is a bit much.
No one was reimbursed for the land. No one asked to be. The owners have not visited that land in years, they don´t live here.
